Well, well. Another MAD* Day at The Co-op is over, or over for me, at any rate. I'm sweaty, stinky and exhausted, and glad as fuck that I don't have to deal with that again for another month.

I went to see my Mother after work, and she gave me a bottle of Blue Grass cologne for Valentine's Day. Normally, I would never wear anything so girlie and froufrou, but it's the scent my Mother wears, and so smelling it makes me think of her. I find it equally fascinating that it's also the scent that her Mother wore, and I often wonder if she started wearing it because it reminded her of my Grandmother. Scent is the strongest sense tied to memory, after all.

In other weekend news, I got to meet unixd0rk yesterday. I always meet the most interesting people under the oddest of circumstances. I met Daryk in the park by sending him a note through a photographer. I met bishopjoey on an all-night bus ride from Jerusalem to Cairo. I met n0thingman in swing dance class (I was there with my ex, he was there with his mom). unixd0rk came into my life by way of Wheres George -- he found one of my marked bills, which led him to my LiveJournal. I love it when life is quirky and random like that.

*Membership Appreciation Day. The member discount is raised from 2% to 10%. It's always pandemonium all day long.
