Help. Now.

A week or so ago, I asked several New York communities for recommendations for movers.

Of the (measly) four that I got, only one moves to or from Pittsburgh.

I just got off the phone with them, and their rates were (IMO) less than stellar.

I need a referral for an interstate mover. NOW. Ideally one who also offers storage.

Please: Anyone who's used professional movers to move to or leave Pittsburgh: Tell me who you used. I need to get at least one more quote, and I'm really wary of calling movers that no one has given me a personal referral for.

I didn't move here directly from NYC, but instead in a very roundabout manner, nor did I use a professional mover. I just now checked the website for Moishe's Moving, a company I used to see all over creation, and it seems they do engage in some interstate moving, so you might look into them as a possibility--I think they have a pretty good rep.

How funny.

My Mom moved my aunt from Arizona to Pittsburgh a few years back with a company whose name she couldn't recall. She *did* say it was Jewish and in Brooklyn, so I googled and found Moishe's.

I talked with a woman there earlier today and she said she'd get back to me with a quote. So far, I'm still waiting.

ETA:

aaronbenedict wonders if they'll be closed the next two days for Shavuos. I suppose I'm about to find out.

Nope, not closed for Shavuos.

And sadly, her estimate made that first estimate look cheap. :(

Too bad about the costs. Would you be able to rent a U-Haul? I'm pretty sure that you drive, right?
