So today was Thanksgiving at my Aunt Joanne's house. She seems to have a flair for the inappropriate. I went, in part because I'd never been invited before (it's generally just her kids and grandkids, apparently). Still, it felt mighty awkward seeing as though she just buried her brother-in-law two days ago. We went around the table and said what we were thankful for. I said I was thankful that Uncle Tommy isn't in pain anymore. And I liked that when my Uncle Robert said grace, he talked about his sister Patty - Tommy's wife (ugh - I mean widow) - he remembered her and her grief. It made me feel a little less ... disrespectful, I suppose.
