I just sent this in an email.

I know I haven't really updated much since Bob died, and I figured this would be an OK return to LiveJournal, albeit brief.

Here, then, is the email:

I had a dream that you and I went to see "Rent." Then I was walking down the stairs and I was blind and Dan (Bob's roommate) stopped to help me, although I said I didn't need any help. The stairs became very M.C. Escher-like. Then I got outside and my legs were all twisted up and I made out with Adam Sandler and we fell to the ground. He was a terrible kisser.

- Hope

Oh, and to the asshole who posted religious spam in reply to my journal entry about Bob's funeral, I wrote this.

heh. I was thinking Hope was an illusion (if you want to know where that's from, here)...I'm posting the whole thing, but I hope it's not re ligious commentary!...I can imagine what it sai. sad that LJ is half a chance to be (more than ) an idiot. Perhaps you know the recipiant, but a guy went on a religious rant on someone's update abou t her dying father...makes me want to cry more than angry, Isn't there like an island we can put those "people" on?

ok, thanks for the snow updates...later

Success is as dangerous as failure.
Hope is as hollow as fear.

What does it mean that success is a dangerous as failure?
Whether you go up the ladder or down it,
you position is shaky.
When you stand with your two feet on the ground,
you will always keep your balance.

What does it mean that hope is as hollow as fear?
Hope and fear are both phantoms
that arise from thinking of the self.
When we don't see the self as self,
what do we have to fear?

See the world as your self.
Have faith in the way things are.
Love the world as your self;
then you can care for all things.
