Random shit.

This used to be Pinati. Now it's about to become a Crazy Mocha. A decent local coffee chain, to be sure, but not somewhere that I can take aaronbenedict for lunch when he's in town.

Sweet Tammy's. It is Kosher, but it's mostly just a bakery. There are a few tables, but the food is ... well, it's a bakery. Could we get muffins and coffee for breakfast? Sure. Could we have dinner? Not so much.

Their hours, just so I won't forget

Milky Way and Aaron & Ari's, now the only two remaining Kosher restaurants in Pittsburgh. Except ...

... they're closed, due to flood damage from last month's rains. Will they be open by the time aaronbenedict gets here? Who knows.

But hey, at least the Squirrel Hill Giant Eagle's bakery is Kosher now. So that's something. I guess.

I say you declare it a "CRAZY CARB DAY" when he visits and chow down on some baked goods until you both pass out.

what about that kosher chinese meat restaurant (golden china?) that's a couple blocks from the milky way and across the street? i'm aware of it because i used to work there, and i could have sworn it was still there last week when i was in squirrell hill. of course, maybe you're not counting it because of being vegan. i don't really remember if they had vegan options or not.

It appears that now it's Kamei Chinese Restaurant. Is this the place that's down near Kazansky's?

I asked at Pinsker's and they said Milky Way was the only game in town, so I'm not overly optimistic. Either way, I'll check it out the next time I'm in Squill.
