Pictures from last night and today.

I don't really have the time to keep going with the DC pictures at the moment (I'm meeting my Mom in an hour), so here's what happened with me today:

Muchi made a fort

This sign really bugged me. It's at a church in East Liberty, a fairly impoverished neighborhood, in the worst section of said neighborhood -- right across the street from the vacant lot that used to be housing projects that the city has since thought better of and razed. It highlights one of the (IMHO) worst things about organized religion: namely, convincing people that if they just suffer through miserable conditions now, they'll somehow be rewarded after they die. The meek will inherit and yadda yadda yadda. Fuck that noise. Revolution now!

Opie's headstone, and they screwed it up. See that thing on the bottom lefthand corner? That's the plot number. When I ordered the headstone, they asked if I wanted the plot number on there. I said no. I saw the order forms today and it was obvious that someone later (in a different handwriting, with a different pen) wrote it in anyway. Sigh. I haven't decided if I'm going to approve it anyway. The pros: I feel bad that there has been so much hassle around this already (The cons: All of it was *their* fault, none of it was mine). The pros: The way the headstones are set into the ground, the grass is probably going to grow around the margins anyway. The cons: It's not what I wanted or what I ordered.

I dunno -- what do you guys think?
