Am I tripping? I must be ...

Oh my stars and garters -- there's *another* new vegan meetup scheduled ... at Rob's house!

Announcing a new event for The Pittsburgh Vegan Meetup Group!

What: Pot Luck lunch at Rob Baran's

When: Saturday, February 2, 1:00 PM

Where: Click the link below to find out!

Event Description: Rob Baran is the General Manager of East End Food Co-Op. With all of the controversy lately about the Cafe at the Co-Op, Rob has graciously offered to host this pot luck at his place. I think his comments in a recent email sum it up the best:

You guys are our base and we have some things to clean up. We are also interested in opening a dialog for Vegan Society input into our cafe operations. For instance, maybe you could help us with some new recipes.

Sorry that this isn't very articulate, but my room is an icebox
Just to put it out there: I was recently informed by an MOD that at the last MOD meeting Rob made the statement that he now feels that all the MODs are finally on the same page and other manager speak bullshit along those lines. What happened to make him feel this way? The only female and black MOD left (after having been passed up for a job that she was doing many parts of on her own time already) and now all the MODs are white males.
We all know how capable Keisha was, and yet Rob was glad to be rid of her? Sorry to use your LJ as a soap box Hope, but I know a lot of people read your journal and I hope none of them forget Rob's culpability in everything that has gone on. Remember, board meeting is on the 28th. I hope that everyone who still cares about co-op principles shows up and sees to it that the board holds Rob accountable. Not a single co-op employee has any respect left for him, but without members behind us too we have a much tougher fight on our hands.
