I think the cold water pipe to my kitchen sink is frozen as well :(
Why is winter so dang complicated and spiteful?

PS- I HAVEN'T forgotten about your pie! It is still pending on my "to do list" along with another little present I have to give you!
You will receive an untimely Hanukkah pie, but you WILL receive one :)

Perhaps it will be a Hanuka 2007 pie?

I can make a pareve egg free crust, well as soon as I have two working arms.

One of the pipes at my work exploded, and flooded SIX FLOORS of the western half of the building.

Luckily all my stuff is in the eastern half, but still... i didn't even go in today. All the heat to the whole building is turned off, and it is so cold in there!

Sorry for jinxing you. It took me all day to get the water running - not fun. I had to sit each kid down and explain the _importance_ of leaving the water running at night when it gets this cold.

My landlady had me set a space heater on the bathroom floor, angled toward the wall and the pipes.

When I left for work, the pipes were still frozen, but the tiles on the bathroom wall had melted.

Oops.

Our pipes broke a couple of years ago. It's not a fun experience.

Do you have an access panel for your pipes? You can pick up those tubes-o-foam at HD to insulate any pipes you can see- they're cheap and they seem to work. Of course, I'm also running my water, just in case.

Space heater pointed at wall= EEEEEK.

The access panel was open when said tile-melting took place.

The plumber came yesterday while I was at work. The problem is fixed for the time being. And it sounds like a lot of the frozen pipes live underneath the floor.
