DC Pictures: Regular Camera, Volume 2

This is the second roll of (non-eight-frame) film from my trip to DC. This roll features the arrival of bishopjoey, us wandering around the city, and yellow_velvet's and shinface's cats as well. bishopjoey and I hadn't seen each other in person since 1999, so it was really incredible to have the chance to hang out together again, even if only for just a very few days.

At any rate, the pictures:

* No, we didn't visit The Zoo. If we'd had more time I would've liked to, but time was pretty seriously at a premium.
** Look at that sky!
*** Where were these guys when I lived there?
**** "How come you never see a fat squirrel? Nuts are so fatty..." "Yeah, but they do a lot of cardio..."

DC Pictures: The second roll of eight frames

This is the second roll of eight frame film from my trip to DC. This roll features bishopjoey, our visit to The Takoma Park Co-op and The Silver Spring Co-op, and us doing touristy stuff on the mall. Like I said before, one of the lenses in my eight frame isn't working, so I suppose these are actually seven frame pictures. Oh well. Either way, I'm sharing.

* I'm not really sure why I took these pictures, but I will say this about DC crosswalks: they give you a countdown of how long you have before the light will change, and I pretty instantly fell in love with that idea.
** We were really bummed that we didn't discover this place until after we'd already eaten
*** You can see bishopjoey and me in there if you look really really closely
**** More on this in my next post (most likely later this evening).

DC Pictures: The Fourth and Final Roll

Sadly, the third roll of (non-eight frame) film from my trip to DC is MIA -- it was processed, but they forgot to make the disc, so I had to give all the pictures right back. The woman said it could take another two weeks, but I figure I'll cross my fingers and check back in a week or so.

At any rate, this roll features bishopjoey, our visit to The Smithsonian (for touristy gifts) and Adams Morgan (in search of The Red Sea, the greatest Ethiopian restaurant ever, which has apparently gone out of business), and then saying our goodbyes. There are also some gratuitous kitty cat pictures at the end, because I enjoy the gratuitous kitty cat pictures.

* I promised you more of a description of Yoko Ono's Wish Tree and here it is: The tree is part of an installation at The Smithsonian Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden. Basically, it's a bare tree with a box full of paper slips and pencils, and the public are invited to write their wishes on the slips of paper and tie them onto the tree. After bishopjoey and I wrote our wishes and hung them from the tree, we checked out some of the other wishes that people had left. They ran the gamut, from serious (wishes for an end to war, wishes for cures for diseases for loved ones), to the silly. "I wish I was a billionaire." "I wish for a hot girlfriend for Mike." My favorite wish: "I wish for big boobies to touch." bishopjoey's favorite wish: "I wish I was an Oscar Mayer Weiner."
