Veruca Salt

Does anyone want to go to see Veruca Salt with me? They're playing at Mr. Small's on Sunday, October 30th. I had thought unixd0rk would be joining me, but he's expressing apprehension at being surrounded by annoying little 18 year old girls. Anyone else out there who's not afraid of teeny boppers?

I'll go. I'll warn you, though, I might be kinda tired, as I have plans to tear up the town on 10/28 & 10/29. Should you get the tickets & I'll pay you back, or should I head over to the Record Exchange and pick one up mah self?
ps- I won't ditch ya. Promise :)

I was going to get tickets through the Mr. Small's website, though I still haven't actually done it yet (they went on sale this past Friday).

And it's quite possible that I may have a party to go to later on that evening, or perhaps I'll be recovering from going to one the night before (I know there's a party at The Big House that weekend, I just don't know when). You're welcome to join in that as well, by the way.

Wait, now I've confused myself.

Should I get tickets online? Are we getting tickets separately? Are you getting tickets at The Record Exchange?

I got all distracted by the bench drama ...

OK. Just bought them two minutes ago. With all the service fees and crap, it came out to $34.00. Maybe I shoulda just let you get them at the record store? Who knows. I also tried to convince unixd0rk that he wanted to go, but he's a weenie and said no.

Sorry.

$34 total, as in $17 each, as in it may've been better to just wait and hope that they didn't sell out and buy one at the door. That'll teach me -- d'oh! But hey -- it's still better than giving money to TicketMaster.

If I lived in Pittsburgh, I'd love to go! I listened to them years ago in my heyday.

Hey. I wanted to give you a better reply than my last one (which was hastily typed while on break at work).

Here's all the info I have:

Sunday, October 30th [Tickets on sale tomorrow, 9/23]
Veruca Salt @ Mr. Smalls Theatre
w/ The Love Makers, Porselain, Exit Clov
400 Lincoln Avenue, Millvale, PA 15209
As one of Chicago’s breakthrough bands of the early 90’s post – Nirvana alternative rock scene, Veruca Salt quickly became a word of mouth sensation, and one of the most harshly criticized bands of the era. Led by Louise Post and Nina Gordon, Veruca Salt (named after the bratty character in Willy Wonka & The Chocolate Factory) signed to Minty Fresh Records and released American Thighs in 1994; a Brad Wood (Liz Phair) produced album that would eventually sell over 500,000 records worldwide. The album brimmed with fuzzy guitars, abrasive punk-pop energy, and sing along melodies. After being picked up by Geffen Records, American Thighs was re-released, and the single ‘Seether’ quickly became a permanent fixture on radio and MTV. It remains one of alternative rocks most snarling and rockin’ music staples to this day.
